Green Dragons Soccer

Saturday was Davis's first soccer game of the Spring. True to Utah Spring weather, it was cold! Of course, at 9:00 a.m. in March, what did we expect? Most of us were bundled up while we watched the game. Meg, on the other hand, was moving at the speed of light! I think she was secretly trying to stay warm.) She ended up at the park before the game ended.

Davis is the green #3

Davis will say the Red Dragons won because they scored more goals, but I think the Green Dragons won because they had more fun! It's not always about the points...or is it?

Giggles

Tonight while I was making Rice Krispie treats, Davis decided to give Cocoa some marshmallows. This just may be one of Cocoa's favorite treats. She can hear a marshmallow bag crinkle from anywhere in the house. While you can't really see how happy Cocoa is, Garrett's reaction is quite entertaining. I'm going to try to attach a video. I hope it works!

Real Soccer

In a moment of, what do you call it...pure insanity...I decided to take the kiddos to the Real Salt Lake soccer game at Rio Tinto Stadium. Luckily for me, my cute niece, Erika, agreed to come with us. We had fantastic seats! We sat on the fourth row on the side where Real would score the only goal (that we would see). Leo the Lion even stopped by for a visit. Meg drew him a picture and we snapped a few photos. After a quick vote at half-time, we left and had a nice lunch at Wendy's before finally making it home.

We had a great time and really appreciated Erika coming with us.
It was nice to have an extra set of helping hands. Thanks Erika!

Self Portraits

I love to take pictures...of...um... myself.
I must confess, I've been self portrait-ing for a while.
At least now I can try to get my kids in the picture with me.
Garrett needs practice looking at the camera.
I think we better work on that.

Apparently, I'm not the only one getting in a little self-portrait action.

Who knew Captain Huggy Face liked self portraits, too?

Red Rocks!

Last Friday I took the kids to the University of Utah's gymnastics meet at The "U". The kids had a great time! Meg's friend Gracie came with us. There was a special opening presentation of the athletes--complete with Top Gun music and fireworks. This was the last home meet of the season and the two seniors were honored. Nastia Liukin--the Olympic gold medalist-- was there to support her friend, Nina Kim, a U of U gymnast. How cool is that? I didn't get a picture of her, but I did see her with my own eyes. The kids didn't get too excited about her, but I felt pretty special. There were only 15,000 people there, surely she noticed me. :)

Gracie and Meg

We had to leave before dinner to get to the meet early, so I made sandwiches to eat before we left home. Well...Davis didn't want to eat his. Let's just say he got hungry...really hungry. Below is how he looked about 20 minutes after we got there.

"Mom, I'm starving...to death."
Don't worry, Gracie shared her snacks with us and Davis was able to survive. He made it through the meet. You can see in the next picture that he was feeling much better after the first rotation. I took this picture of us and I think it turned out okay.

Meg-a-rooski

This is a picture of my sweet Meg. She's an awesome big sister and will always help whenever I need. She loves to make things and draw pictures. She's becoming a great reader and likes to have "baby school" with Garrett.

Bob

For the longest time, all Garrett would say is, "Dada." It was Dada this and Dada that. Eventually he branched out to include Mama. We were proud parents. Now Garrett keeps saying "Bob." Scott will ask him to say "Dada" but all we get is "Bob." He has us all wondering, "Who is Bob?"

The Prodigy

Here's Davis doing what he loves...playing games on the laptop. He's very good at getting to PBS Kids--all by himself. I'm talking about pulling the laptop out of the bag, plugging it in, turning it on, opening Internet Explorer, and searching for pbskids.org! Davis can be pretty resourceful at figuring out how to find things he likes on the computer. For instance, one day he brought his Batman pajamas to the computer so he could spell "Batman" and find a Batman game! He's brought movies, games, clothes, and books to the computer so he can play those games. I wonder where he gets this love of video games from? Hhhmmm....

Amaryllis

I took this picture of our Christmas Amaryllis. Who knew the little flower button on the camera could take pictures like this? I guess I better read the manual! I really like this picture, so I'm sharing it with you. Enjoy!

Under Pressure

I've been feeling some pressure from unnamed sources (you know who you are) to actually post something on our blog...so here goes!

**Disclaimer: This will probably not be the best written or most current blog that you ever read, but I will try really hard to not sound like an idiot. There may also be future disclaimers.**

Pensacola, Florida

This is one of my favorite pictures of Scott and me. It's December 2007 and we're in Florida on the beach! Oh...I love Florida. We made a whirlwind trip to Pensacola during our trip to see my Dad (who lives in Plaquemine, Louisiana).

That's it for now. I'm going to make it a goal to post at least once a month. (I like to set realistic goals.) So, don't be surprised if there's not another post until April. :) Anything sooner will just be a bonus!
